At 502 Hemp, we believe that honoring our veterans should be a year-round commitment, not something confined to a single day or holiday sale. While many businesses offer special promotions for Veterans Day, we choose a different path. Our gratitude and respect for veterans extend beyond this annual commemoration, as we offer ongoing discounts to veterans.

A Brief History of Veterans Day

Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11th, originally began as Armistice Day. It marked the end of World War I, which officially took effect on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918. In 1938, November 11th was made a legal holiday dedicated to the cause of world peace and primarily set aside to honor veterans of World War I.

However, after the significant involvement of American forces in World War II and the Korean War, the United States Congress amended the Act in 1954, replacing “Armistice” with “Veterans,” and November 11th became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

Our Philosophy on Honoring Veterans

We understand that veterans have made tremendous sacrifices for our country and that the challenges they face don’t end when they return home. From reintegrating into civilian life to tackling various personal and professional challenges, our veterans deserve continuous support and acknowledgment.

That’s why we’ve established a year-round discount policy for veterans at 502 Hemp. We encourage any veteran to inform us of their service when interacting with our business, and we are proud to offer them a discount as a token of our appreciation.

Everyday Appreciation

Veterans have played a pivotal role in shaping the freedom and security we enjoy today. By offering ongoing discounts rather than limiting recognition to Veterans Day, we aim to express our gratitude in a more consistent and meaningful way. This approach reflects our belief that respect and support for veterans should be a daily practice, not a one-time event.

How You Can Support Veterans

  • Educate Yourself and Others: Understanding the challenges veterans face is the first step to helping. Engaging in conversations and spreading awareness can lead to more supportive communities.
  • Volunteer: Many organizations support veterans through various programs. Whether it’s assisting at a local VA hospital or contributing to veteran-focused nonprofits, your time could make a significant impact.
  • Hire Veterans: If you own a business or have influence over your company’s hiring practices, consider veteran applicants. Veterans bring unique skills and perspectives that can enrich any workplace.

At 502 Hemp, we salute our veterans every day. We invite you to join us in recognizing and supporting the brave individuals who have served our country with honor and distinction—not just on Veterans Day, but throughout the year.
